As the saw blade rubs against the plastic it creates heat (friction). If you slowed the blade down a bit, less friction would occur. Less friction = less heat = less melting. It's still a new development with sportbikes so the selection isn't wide. If you do go new though, get exactly what you want. For me, I'll compromise when a bike is 1/3 of retail. But if you're paying for new, don't settle for 95%. I think the ABS adds about 1k though, so factor that too. PLA+ is actually quite a bit stronger and stiffer than ABS. Really unless you have capacity for Polycarbonate or Nylon then you should be printing pew pew parts with PLA+.
